An unconventional approach to stop judging your body

Change the way you see and relate to other women to change the way you see and relate to yourself.

"Ew. I look so gross.” “I AM so gross.” “My belly/cellulite/thighs/ankles/arms/fill-in-the-blank is/are so disgusting.” “My ABC is too XYZ.”

Tell me, when was the last time you said or thought something like this about yourself? Be honest. As a women’s coach, I hear this kind of statement, which I would label nothing short of violent, all the time from women, and it absolutely breaks my heart.

First of all, let me just say that you are already perfect and no part of you could ever be disgusting. EVER. No matter what.

Second of all, fuck the patriarchy for teaching women our value is conditional on a set of specific superficial beauty and body image standards. Fuck the patriarchy for conditioning women to look at ourselves as a set of parts that could always use fixing, alteration, and improvement. Fuck the patriarchy for creating and (for thousands of years) passing down a system that objectifies and judges women like we’re livestock and, as a result, teaches us to do the same to ourselves and each other – sadly from the time we’re quite young. In short, fuck the patriarchy!

Now that that’s out of the way, what can we do about it? How do we put an end to this hateful, self-rejecting way of relating to ourselves?

Check out this video for an unconventional approach to do just that — an “outside-in” approach that is focused on changing the way to relate to other women first.
